About Me

Teaching background... I always knew that I wanted to be a

teacher when I “grew up”. I constantly played school as a child, volunteered in elementary classrooms and worked in daycare settings throughout high school. I love to help children learn about the world and see their faces light up when they discover new things. I attended The University of South Dakota and graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Kindergarten education. I had the wonderful opportunity to student teach in a Kindergarten classroom at Fred Assam Elementary in the Spring of 2012. I spent last school year teaching Title I Reading at Fred Assam and began this year in Title I as well. I am looking forward to starting this new adventure as your child’s Junior Kindergarten teacher.

My family...
I married my best friend, Jason in June of 2012. Jason and I live in Garretson with our 5 year old black lab, Marley. He keeps us quite busy and if that isn’t enough we are also expecting our first child at the beginning of June. We couldn’t be more excited! Jason is a farmer and also works for Central Valley Dairy Supply in Brandon. He enjoys spending time hunting and fishing and is also a member of the Garretson volunteer fire department. In our spare time we enjoy golfing, going to movies, spending time with family and friends, traveling and going out to eat at new restaurants.
