Dec.2-6

This week-

This week is a bit crazy for me and my class. Unfortunetly, my grandpa passed away on Sunday after a short battle with cancer. I was gone yesterday and will be gone again on Thursday and Friday for the funeral. I have made sub plans so the students will continue learning what was planned when I am gone. I got a great report from the sub yesterday that the students were all very helpful and well behaved :) good job!

In reading this week we are learning about the letter B. Have your child practice writing the letter b or challenge them to find the letter B in your home or while in the car. It is also important to review past letters as well. The more you practice with letters the more automatic the skill will become for your child. We are also working on rhyming this week. Nursery rhymes are a great way to introduce young learners to rhyming. The theme for reading this week is "Working together" so we are talking about how to be a good helper, who works in our schools and communities to be a good helper, etc..

In math this week we are continuing to review numbers 1-10 (writing, counting and recognizing). We are also starting to learn about graphing. There are many things you and your child can graph at home. (Family members favorite colors, favorite holiday, etc..) We are doing many class graphs this week.

It is going to be cold this week, please remember snow pants, hats, gloves etc.. for recess :)
