Dec.9-13

This week...
December is flying by, before we know it, it will be Christmas break! Two more weeks! This week we are going to be busy learning all about the letter Tt. Practice finding the letter Tt at home or search for objects that begin with the /t/ sound. Our reading theme this week is pets so we will be talking about pets we have at home or pets that we wish we had at home. We will also talk about the difference between good pets and bad pets (ex. alligator=bad pet, cat=good pet).

Our math theme this week is "construction zone". The students are very excited about this theme because one of their favorite choice time centers is the workbench/tool center. Within the theme of construction we are focusing on measurement. We are comparing heavy and light, tall and short, and even learning how to use a ruler. Challenge your child to use a ruler at home to measure objects in the house. We are continuing to work on recognizing and counting numbers 1-10.

Ask your child about "Frassy the Elf". He is in our school watching our behaviors to make sure we are making good choices all of the time. We know we can't touch him. We are having fun finding him in different locations around the building each day.
