This week

Conferences were great! I was very impressed with the attendance and the conversations. I have great Jr.K parents! Thank you all for your support and dedication to your child and their education.

After visiting with parents at conferences, I found this great article on ways to prepare your child for Kindergarten. This article gives wonderful ideas of things you can do at home and over the summer time to help your child have a successful Kindergarten year. It's very important to continue the learning at home. Students typically loose some of what they learn over the summer time, unfortunately, so let's work together to make sure that doesn't happen :)

How to prepare your child for Kindergarten

This week has been a bit crazy as far as days off, early outs, Valentine's parties and conferences. For that reason, we are doing a review week this week. We are still practicing with letter K and working on the letters we have learned up to this point. We are really working hard on recognizing numbers 1-10 and counting to 30 as well.

The students are really looking forward to the Valentine's day parties tomorrow. Reminder- the AM party is at 10AM and the PM party is at 2PM. Please feel free to stop by if you would like to join in on the fun!

Next week we will be learning the letter O in Reading. We will be working on making equal groups and sharing in Math, and we will start talking about drawing pictures to go with stories or ideas. We will also make a fun counting book that centers around the Olympics. I am looking forward to a somewhat normal week again next week. Have a great weekend!
